About Cathy

Hi, I’m Cathy.
I started Being the Change as a place to pause, notice, and reflect—because so much of life (and growth) happens in the in-between moments we often rush past.
This site isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about paying attention. To the natural world. To everyday experiences. To the small choices that quietly shape who we become and how we show up for others.
A Little About My Path
By profession, I’ve spent decades working in technology—building systems, solving problems, helping organizations navigate change without losing sight of the people involved. I’ve led teams, founded a company, and learned firsthand that progress doesn’t come from shiny tools alone, but from curiosity, trust, and a willingness to adapt.
But Being the Change exists for a different reason.
It’s where I explore what happens when we slow down just enough to ask:
-What did I notice today?
-What did this experience teach me?
-What’s one small thing I could do differently?
What You’ll Find Here
This space is a collection of observations, stories, and gentle nudges—often inspired by:
-Time outdoors and the quiet lessons nature offers
-Travel and moments that shift perspective
-Everyday sustainability and thoughtful consumption
-Personal growth, curiosity, and lifelong learning
Some posts are light. Some are reflective. All are rooted in the belief that small actions, taken consistently, can lead to meaningful change—in ourselves, in our communities, and in the world around us.
Why “Being the Change”?
Because change doesn’t always arrive with grand gestures.
Sometimes it looks like:
-choosing reuse over replacement
-asking a better question
-listening a little longer
-noticing what we usually overlook
This site is an invitation—not to be perfect, but to be intentional.
Pull Up a Chair
If something here makes you pause, smile, or see things a little differently, then it’s doing its job.
Thanks for being here.
Thanks for noticing.
And thanks for being the change—however small it may feel today.
